I have many interests. Some I am fortunate to be able to pursue professionally such as my passion for fitness, running, wellness and nutrition. Other interests that I share with you here are interests that I have pursued competitively, casually or recreationally.
I have worked as a Holistic Strength and Conditioning Coach in the Toronto’s Yonge and Eglinton area since 2005. I have continued studies through the C.H.E.K Institute in California where I am certified as an Exercise Coach, Level 2 Practitioner and Level 2 Holistic Lifestyle Coach. In 2011 I completed studies from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Toronto, adding a more in depth nutritional knowledge to my offerings as I became a Certified Holistic Nutritionist. After years of running poorly I took Dr. Romanov’s Level 1 Pose Coaching course. This helped me to completely change my stride and brought joy back into my runs. I also use his method to teach others to run more smoothly and easily while reducing their risk of injuries and improving performance. So, long story short, I have had the privilege and opportunity to be mentored by some of the best educators in the industry!
But there is more. More than this blog will cover also. This blog is to share a few other passions. Eating, cycling and canoeing.
Don’t worry this isn’t another diet blog. I will use these pages to share recipes, some stories of food and even some tips for foraging edible wild plants.
In the 90s I did a ton of road riding and competed in a number of mountain bike races, including about ten 24hr relay races. Since then most of my riding is for transportation. I have ridden to work year round for about 12 years. Cycling posts will be for like minded individuals looking for routes, gear, nutrition and training.
I raced outrigger canoes for a few years before burning out on the sport. Paddling is now infrequent for me. Posts related to canoeing will also be infrequent, but relevant perhaps to those in Toronto and Southern Ontario.
